Community projects by rimataueue.online
At rimataueue.online, we’re focused on projects that uplift, protect, and prepare our people — the kinds of initiatives that reflect real needs in our communities. We are by the community, for the community.

Emergency preparedness initiatives
Helping Our Communities Stay Ready, Together
The Emergency Preparedness Initiative at rimataueue.online is all about making sure our Pacific communities are informed, prepared, and protected when emergencies strike — whether it’s a flood, earthquake, health outbreak, or civil defence alert.
We don’t wait for a crisis to act. We work alongside families, churches, schools, and local groups to build awareness, share resources, and run practical, hands-on workshops that reflect our cultural values and the real-life needs of our people.
What We Do:
-
Community Workshops: Culturally relevant, interactive sessions covering how to prepare a grab bag, make a family emergency plan, and what to do in different types of emergencies.
-
Emergency Kits for Elders & Vulnerable Families: Providing essentials like torches, radios, first aid packs, and instructions in Pacific languages.
-
Translated Resources: Easy-to-understand emergency info in Cook Islands Māori, Samoan, Tongan, and other Pacific languages.
-
Youth-Led Outreach: Training young people to be “Resilience Ambassadors” who share knowledge and lead within their own homes and churches.
-
Collaborations with Local Hubs: We work with churches, marae, and community centres to serve as access points during emergencies.
This initiative strengthens our communities by combining practical skills with cultural connection — because when we prepare together, we protect each other.

Youth empowerment programs
Raising Confident, Capable Pacific Youth
At rimataueue.online, we believe our young people are not just the leaders of tomorrow — they’re the changemakers of today. Our Youth Empowerment Programs are designed to build confidence, skills, and purpose in Pacific youth across West Auckland.
We create safe, inclusive spaces where rangatahi can grow, lead, and give back to their communities — all while staying grounded in their culture and identity.
What We Do:
Leadership Development: We run workshops and mentoring sessions that build public speaking, decision-making, teamwork, and planning skills.
Resilience Ambassador Training: Youth are trained to lead in emergencies, share vital information with their families, and support community response plans.
Digital Confidence: Teaching young people to safely navigate online spaces, use digital tools for good, and help their elders bridge the technology gap.
Cultural Connection: We integrate cultural knowledge, language, and Pacific values into all our programs — ensuring our youth lead with pride.
Community Projects: From food drives to first aid demos, our youth-led projects give back to the neighbourhood and make a real impact.
This programme isn’t about ticking boxes — it’s about unlocking potential. When our youth feel seen, supported, and skilled — they rise.

Elder support & digital literacy
Empowering Our Elders in a Digital World
At rimataueue.online, we honour the knowledge and wisdom our elders carry — and we’re committed to making sure they’re not left behind as the world becomes more digital. Our Elder Support & Digital Literacy program helps older Pacific people build the confidence and skills to safely use everyday technology.
We offer patient, culturally sensitive support that respects our elders’ pace, language, and learning style — because feeling connected shouldn’t be a barrier.
What We Do:
-
One-on-One & Group Training: Teaching elders how to use smartphones, scan QR codes, check in online, and video call loved ones.
-
Scam Awareness & Online Safety: Helping elders recognise fake websites, avoid online scams, and protect their personal information.
-
Translated Digital Guides: Step-by-step printed and video guides in Pacific languages, with simple instructions and visual support.
-
Intergenerational Learning: Youth mentors are trained to work alongside elders, building trust and passing on skills in a culturally grounded way.
-
Ongoing Drop-In Support: Regular sessions where elders can come in, ask questions, and learn at their own pace.
Our goal is to create confident, connected elders — not just during emergencies, but every day. Because digital inclusion is not a luxury — it’s a lifeline.

Cultural and wellbeing projects
Strengthening Identity, Connection, and Community Health
At rimataueue.online, we believe that cultural wellbeing is just as important as physical safety. Our Cultural and Wellbeing Projects are designed to nurture the spiritual, emotional, and cultural health of Pacific communities — because when we stay connected to who we are, we thrive.
These projects celebrate our languages, traditions, stories, and collective resilience — bringing people together in ways that uplift the spirit and heal the heart.
What We Do:
-
Cultural Workshops & Events: We support and host language classes, traditional weaving, drumming, dance, and storytelling to keep our culture alive and thriving.
-
Mental Wellbeing Sessions: Safe spaces for talanoa, reflection, and healing — led by Pacific facilitators who understand the community’s realities and rhythms.
-
Faith-Based & Spiritual Support: Collaborations with churches and spiritual leaders to provide holistic support rooted in Pacific values.
-
Creative Expression: Opportunities for youth and elders to share their stories through visual art, poetry, music, and film — building pride and voice.
-
Community Healing Initiatives: Post-crisis gatherings and activities focused on recovery, reconnection, and collective strength.
Culture is not just something we preserve — it’s something we live. These projects ensure that wellbeing and identity go hand in hand, across generations.

Neighbourhood and church-based projects
Supporting the Spaces Where Our Communities Thrive
At rimataueue.online, we know that real change starts close to home — in the places we gather, worship, and support one another. Our Neighbourhood and Church-Based Projects focus on uplifting the everyday heroes already doing the mahi in homes, halls, and churches across West Auckland.
We walk alongside community groups, congregations, and local leaders to bring their ideas to life, offering project support that’s grounded, practical, and culturally aligned.
What We Do:
-
Small-Scale Project Support: Helping churches and neighbourhood groups plan and deliver wellness days, food drives, clean-ups, and cultural events.
-
Emergency Hub Setups: Supporting local hubs to become safe, equipped spaces during floods, health outbreaks, and civil defence emergencies.
-
Faith-Based Collaboration: Working with churches to deliver wellbeing programs, technology help for elders, and resilience training in trusted spaces.
-
Youth & Family Engagement: Assisting with community nights, after-school activities, and family-focused initiatives that strengthen connection and support.
-
Tailored Guidance: Providing behind-the-scenes help with planning, budgeting, and outreach — so good ideas don’t stay stuck on paper.
Whether it’s a Sunday school hall, a garage turned foodbank, or a team of aunties running a sewing circle — we’re here to support the grassroots.
