Real Impact: Supporting West Auckland After the Floods
In early 2023, after severe flooding impacted parts of West Auckland, Te Rima Tāueue, through rimataueue.online, mobilised quickly. Working alongside local churches, youth leaders, and community volunteers, we established a temporary Emergency Support Hub in Glen Eden within 48 hours. The hub provided essential supplies, charging stations, welfare checks, and access to translated emergency information. We delivered culturally responsive outreach, providing printed information in Pacific languages and helping elders use their mobile phones to access Civil Defence updates and reconnect with loved ones.
